Screencast

Watch the Screencast for a demonstration of the basic functions of Thinkbase.

How do I use Thinkbase?

Navigation
Simply click on the icons in the graph to navigate. The corresponding article in Freebase will show up in the right frame. Hovering the connections shows the type of relationship. The back and forward buttons at the main menu can be used to navigate the browsing history.

Node Context Menu
Right click on any icon or 'aggregation node' (the gray circles) in the graph to access the context menu. You have the options to open the selected item in Freebase, and to search the item using Wikipedia or Google. Additionally you can choose to expand and collapse the selected item (i.e. to show further relationships).

Application Context Menu
Right click in the background of the graph (any white space) to access the application context menu. Within that menu you can select to hide and show all edge labels. This feature might be useful e.g. when printing a graph.

The Toolbar

- The search button will open the search panel on the left side. You can perform either a standard Freebase search or filter it down to a specific domain.

- The refresh button can be used to refresh the graph view on the left side after editing the Freebase content.

- You can zoom the graph either by using the zoom menu buttons or by using the mouse wheel.

- The back and forward buttons allow to navigate the browsing history.

- The print button lets you print the current graph.

- Selecting the 'Share' menu option will show a URL which you can copy & paste to share the current page.

- The 'Widget' menu option allows users to create Thinkbase Widgets which can be embedded into any website or blog.
